The Cinela Pianissimo WIndshield Kit for the DPA 4017b shotgun microphone is a highly efficient modular windshield kit that is ideal for both outdoor and indoor use and enables a high acoustic transparency with extremely low sound coloration while providing a high level of attenuation to wind noise.
Cinela PIANI-1 with DPA4017b Suspension
- Very light durable cage constructed in two parts which is held together at six points by simple push-to-fit connectors.
- Aerodynamic ovoid shape and maximum internal space around the microphone for high wind resistance. The primary covering provides effective first-level wind protection with acoustic transparency and is a special fabric that surrounds the cage,
- The central support has two positions, enabling the fitting of different microphone suspensions and combinations of microphone.
- OSIX series elliptical shockmount isolators are used to suspend the microphone. (These cnan be interchanged with the other Cinela Windshields)
- Standard PIANO 1 swivel, single axis with XLR holder. The swivel is tightened using a toothed wheel, which permits a firm grip with light force.
- The secret second swivel, only adjustable with the help of a screwdriver is useful for stereo applications. The swivel and cable turn in a block on the central axis. As standard, the PIANISSIMO turns on both axes, but can be locked for mono use.
- The PIANISSIMO comes with a virtually unbreakable transparent clamshell case made from polycarbonate.

Cinela PIANI-1 with DPA4017b Suspension
The Cinela Pianissimo PIANI-1 is a highly efficient windshield for the DPA 4017b microphone. Its special geometry leads to high acoustical transparency and thus extremely low coloration. At the same time the attenuation of wind noise is very high.
CINELA PIANISSIMO WINDSHIELD
The Cinela PIANISSIMO is designed for short shotgun microphones, coincident pairs and surround-sound combinations. Can also be used for many other mics shorter than 21 cm.
As with all other Cinela windshields since 2007, Pianissimo integrates a unique full-cage isolation to prevent vibrations and handling noise by an additional ~15 db. This Cinela invention, the well-known “floating basket” principle, is achieved by four flexible “U” isolators installed around the cage. A rubber bellows at the bottom of the cage insures flexibility and keeps wind out.
Easily transportable, the PIANISSIMO is very light, robust, and adaptable, and includes all the recognised qualities of the existing range of Cinela windshields.
