Description

The RME HDSPe MADIface is the worlds first MADI interface for laptop computers based on an Expresscard the MADIFACE. It consists of the HDSPe ExpressCard MADI and a small breakout box. The MADIface offers you full MADI power: 64 channels input and 64 channels output and up to 192 kHz sample rate. MIDI transmissions can also be embedded in the MADI.

The MADIFACE comes complete with TotalMix software that is even remote controllable and has the lowest latency and CPU-load. To keep cabling to a minimum the power for the breakout box is provided directly by the ExpressCard, so no external power supply is required. The breakout box simply connects to the Expresscard via a firewire cable of which a 1M cable is supplied (the data protocol is not the same though).

The MADIface is fully compatible with all mixers and devices with a MADI interface as well as being the perfect partner to RME's product range. The RME MADIface offers full support for MADI in 56 or 64 channel modes and for single and double wire configurations. All channels can be mixed and routed freely with the TotalMix software giving an amazing 8192 channel mixer. With this, RME's MADI interfaces give you the most powerful router / mixer ever made on a PCIe card affording you the scope to use this as far more than just a computer I/O card.

• MADI optical router and patchbay
• MADI converter / splitter between optical and coaxial
• MADI redistributor.

The extensive features do not stop here as:

• TotalMix can be completely remote controlled via MIDI
• The hardware delivers RMS and peak level meters for 192 audio channels
• A configuration memory is deployed - remembering MADI format, I/O configuration, sample rates etc. when powered down
• SteadiClock is used to extract the reference clock at lowest jitter from the MADI signal

All in all a truly useful product that can make soundchecks from one venue to another remarkably simple and can make cabling incredibly compact with just one cable for 64 channels that offers remote control to Pre-amps etc. on stage or in a Live performance room.
